George El Khouri ARAIA 1984- Registered Architect............................... 4642 Background Practicing as a registered architect since 1984 he has been a member of the Australian Institute of Architects since 1978. He has been a licensed builder since 1985. In 2004 he was a founding member of the Australian Architects Association. In his early days of practice as Architect, George was involved in design of high rise office and residential buildings as well as interior fit out for Parliament House of Australia working full time in Hong Kong, Macau and in the Sydney office for one of Australia's leading architectural firms. George has been a principal director of companies which have undertaken design, construction work and/or project management for: He has also held directorships in entities involved in property project management and development since the early 1980's. George brings valuable skills to the firm combining his unique experiences in architecture, development and building to produce cost effective designs for construction. He has received numerous design and building awards and many works have been published in books, magazines and media. He has also been involved internationally in architectural work involving residential commissions in several countries. George has donated his architectural and project management services and helped with funding several community based projects in Sydney including: St George Public Hospital Cancer Care Lodge and Child Day Care Centre and various Maronite Catholic projects including, Centre for Cultural Dialogue, St Joseph's Church, Our Lady of Lebanon Aged Hostel and St Charbel's Church, Monastery and School. In 1983 he was a founding treasurer of the Australian- Lebanese Lions Club (a Chapter of the International Association of Lions Clubs). In 2000, he personally funded the design and reconstruction of a village plaza in Mount Lebanon also donating street trees and planting.
